CRR ( Traditions )

When reading Taming Of  the Shrew I connected to many things. There were many actions and traditions that are similar to the culture in Africa. As a girl , women, young lady , or teenager , all women are treated equal and are dependable towards cooking , raising the family , and most importantly respecting their husbands. Which is quite similar to the culture in Taming Of The Shrew where Bianca fit perfect into women's role in society. Another thing I can relate to is how Katherine was forced to marry Petruchio even without her approval , in Africa young teenagers are often forced to marry at a young age either to protect the family , or to not deny it because of the respect they have for their father that they cannot say no to embarrass him.The way Katherine became at the end , when she was tamed reminds me of how the young girls that are forced to getting married become while their in their marriage , its more like a dictatorship rather than a companionship.

  1. Does that make the play more meaningful to you? Or more of an insult?
